Belarusian political scientist Irina Schasnaja was accused of preparing mass riots and wassentenced to four years in prison for that. She has a 12-year-old son, Herman, who hasn’t seen his mother for more than three years. Here’s what a former political prisoner says about her:
“Ira misses her son. It’s hard for her, because she’s been there for a long time. She misses the news. She asked us to analyze every piece of news we caught, why and what would come of it. She is a political scientist.”
