Natallia Taran, a 75-year-old Belarusian woman, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on three charges – allegedly for insulting a representative of the authorities, the official head of state, and for slandering him. Natallia is serving her sentence in Homieĺ penal colony, and she suffers from a number of chronic diseases.
